Year-End Contributions
Dear FarmHouse Brothers and Supporters,
First of all, we just wanted to thank all of you for the support you have given our chapter over the past years. It has meant a lot to us, and many of our recent successes can be attributed to this support. As the year-end approaches, we wanted to ask you to keep FarmHouse in mind as you plan your year-end giving. There are several ways to give tax-free donations to help secure the future success of our fraternity.
Foundation Council
The Foundation Council provides funds for educational opportunities for members of FarmHouse. These funds help to send undergraduate members to FarmHouse Leadership Academy, Regional Leadership Conferences and FarmHouse Conclave. It is also used for educational improvements to the chapter house, including our recent installation of wireless Internet throughout the house.
Building Fund
Money from the Building Fund can be used to pay for one-third of the maintenance on the chapter house. It can also be used to pay one-third of such expenses as taxes, utilities and insurance. Donations to the building fund will help to pay down the debt from the 1998 renovation more quickly. Currently, that debt is at almost $217,000. The sooner this debt is paid off, the sooner the chapter and association can begin planning for the future of the chapter house.
Scholarship Funds
There have been two scholarship funds recently established for the Kansas State Chapter.
The first fund was started by several members from the 1950s. This year, the first $500 scholarship was awarded to Matt Begnoche ('05), a junior from Moundridge, Kan. The selection criteria for this scholarship are academics (including scholastic improvement), activities (on- and off-campus) and financial need.
The second fund was recently started by an anonymous donor and is intended specifically for juniors and seniors. The criteria for this scholarship is primarily financial need.
Since both of these funds have only recently been established, we are hoping for more donations to be able to increase the number of scholarships available to the members of FarmHouse.
Again, we thank you for your past support, and we hope you will be able to include a tax-deductible gift to FarmHouse in your year-end giving plans. Please click on the link below to download a contribution form.
Sincerely,
Eric Brunkow ('08)
